About Dr. Rajan Chokshi
Dr. Rajan Chokshi is an artificial lift and production optimization specialist and principal of Accutant Solutions LLC in Houston, Texas. For 42 years he has worked on production optimization through artificial lift, from design to real-time systems, multiphase flow modelling, software development and field engineering.
He has held technical and leadership roles with a national oil company, research consortia, software and technology firms, and a service company, as engineer, software developer, project manager, trainer, consultant and senior business leader. Today his work centres on integrated artificial lift optimization, real-time surveillance and failure prediction, virtual flow metering, emissions reduction, and competency development for production engineering teams, together with machine-learning workflows for production analysis and generative-AI applications for engineering knowledge capture and decision support.

Service to the profession
- ALRDC (Artificial Lift Research and Development Council): Executive Board Member and Board Secretary since February 2026, and Board Member since June 2023. Builds and manages the infrastructure that supports the board, members and volunteer collaborators, supports ALRDC workshops, and planned, managed and ran the 2025 Gas Lift Workshop. Earlier: committee work on horizontal-well data acquisition and artificial lift training (2016), and instructor and virtual trainer for ALRDC workshops.
- SPE: Administrative Chair (2020-2022) and Technical Advisor (2023-present), Artificial Lift Technical Section; Distinguished Lecturer Selection Committee; Forum Series Implementation Committee (North America); SPE Liaison for the Forum on Artificial Intelligence; chair of the Awards & Recognition and International Production Awards committees; co-chair of workshops on multiphase flow metering, artificial lift systems and unconventional production; session chair at ATCE and the SPE ESP Symposium.

Teaching
He has taught artificial lift and production optimization at universities from one-day seminars to semester-long courses, including the University of Houston, Texas Tech University, Missouri S&T, LSU, Colorado School of Mines, PDPU and the University of Southern California. He has delivered courses, workshops and seminars in 40 countries and virtual training to global audiences since 2020. Bespoke and public training has been delivered for operators including Apache, Basra Oil Company, ConocoPhillips, Chevron, Ecopetrol, Equinor, Kuwait Oil Company, Occidental, ONGC, PDO, PEMEX, Repsol, Saudi Aramco, Shell, Sonatrach and YPF.
